LIFE IN LONDON IN THE 1950s

With full employment and the end of rationing, life in London becomes easier. The city is swept up in Rock n' Roll, as Soho becomes trendy and coffee bars fill with teenagers. Buckingham Palace sees its last presentation of débutantes. West Indian immigrants are arriving to work on the transport system, and race riots erupt in the run down area of Notting Hill. Olympia holds its first electronic computer exhibition, the new Routemaster replaces the Trolleybus and London's first motorway is opened.

Using rarely seen archive film, this documentary captures London in the Fifties- Narrated by Ross Cook.
