It is a tale of Andy Dufresne(Tim Robbins), wrongly accused of the murders of his wife and her lover. He is sent to Shawshank prison for life and this shows him carving out some sort of life inside using his skills as a banker. Corruption reigns inside aswell as in the outside world. It's an amazing story of how hope and friendship can carry a person through the most devastating times of their life.

It was nominated for 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (Morgan Freeman). The DVD includes the theatrical trailer and interviews with the cast.
